INTRODUCTION
At Inclusive Canada Foundation (ICF), we believe that sport is more than competition; it’s a catalyst for belonging, community integration, social connection, and individual empowerment. Our Sports portfolio champions inclusive, accessible sporting opportunities that welcome people of all backgrounds, abilities, and life experiences. Through strategic partnerships and community-centred programs, we help reduce barriers and create spaces where everyone can play, connect, and thrive.
Last Man Stands
Last Man Stands (LMS) is one of the world’s largest and most innovative amateur cricket formats, designed to make cricket fun, fast-paced, and accessible for everyone. Played as 8-a-side, two-hour matches, LMS removes traditional barriers to participation and brings the joy of cricket to communities globally. Unlike conventional cricket, LMS focuses on fun, inclusivity, and community building, with live scoring, global rankings, and opportunities for players to shine both locally and internationally.
In Canada, LMS has become a cornerstone of inclusive sport — welcoming players from diverse cultures, ages, and skill levels to take part in organised cricket, build new friendships, and strengthen local communities through sport.
LMS BC Blasters Championship
In British Columbia, the LMS competitive scene has featured the LMS BC Blasters Championship, a regional tournament that brought together local teams in spirited competition during the 2022 Summer Cup season. This event not only showcased the growing enthusiasm for amateur cricket in BC but also highlighted the community’s commitment to inclusive sport for players of all backgrounds and skill levels.

All Programs
Under ICF’s Sports portfolio, LMS delivers a suite of programs designed for different age groups, life stages, and community segments:
• Junior Program
• University League
• Corporate League
• Newcomer Program
• Indoor & Tape-Ball Cricket
Each program is built around inclusion, low or no-cost access, skill development, and community building.
Junior Program
We are thrilled to introduce young cricket enthusiasts to the exciting world of the sport and provide them with opportunities to learn, grow, and have fun.
Our Junior Program aims to foster a love for cricket among kids and equip them with the skills and knowledge to play the game in amateur setting. We believe in creating a positive and inclusive environment where children can explore their potential and develop a lifelong passion for cricket.
Junior Cricket Clinic:
As part of our Junior Program, we offer engaging and interactive cricket clinics designed to introduce kids (ages 5-15) to the fundamentals of the game. Our experienced coaches guide them through various activities, drills, and games that focus on developing their cricket skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
University League
We are thrilled to announce that we are the pioneers of the first-ever university/college cricket league in Canada, launched in summer 2023. Here is a heartfelt article by BurnabyNOW on this topic! Our aim is to provide an exciting platform for university and college students to showcase their cricket skills, foster camaraderie, and create lasting memories.
Through this league, we strive to bridge the barriers faced by newcomers and underprivileged students, ensuring equal opportunities for all. To register your team for the University Cricket League, please fill out the registration form: https://forms.gle/gYbjwKqZxVw6F6pSA. Additionally, please email canada@lastmanstands.com as we have partnered with them to run this university league and manage the registration process
Corporate League
We are committed to fostering an inclusive sporting environment for companies with employees predominantly from cricket-playing countries, who are newcomers and immigrants. Our clinic and league provide a platform for companies to showcase their dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) goals.
Through our corporate cricket league, companies have a unique opportunity to demonstrate their support for DEI initiatives by embracing their employees’ passion for cricket. As we expand, we also aim to introduce other sports such as soccer, creating a culture of sportsmanship and teamwork across various disciplines
We are excited to share with you our mission of supporting newcomers to Canada by removing barriers and providing opportunities through the incredible sport of cricket and other sports.
Thanks to the generous funding from CPRA’s REEO (Reaching Each and Every One) program (through Government of Canada), we have been able to make a significant impact on the lives of newcomers by addressing specific barriers they face during their integration journey.
In 2022, our first year of operation, we supported approximately 40 newcomers through organized cricket, creating a platform for cultural exchange, community engagement, and personal growth. With our partnership with the largest amateur global cricket league in the world (Last Man Stands), we provided these individuals with an inclusive and supportive environment to pursue their passion for cricket while fostering a sense of belonging.
Our focus for 2023 is to expand our reach and support a minimum of 60 newcomers and refugees. With your help, we can create even greater opportunities for these individuals to thrive and succeed in their new home.
Indoor – Tape-Ball
To ensure year-round participation and mental well-being, LMS offers an Indoor Cricket Program during the winter months, where players can stay active, sharpen skills, and remain part of the cricket community despite seasonal weather constraints.
Additionally, Tape-Ball Cricket celebrates a culturally beloved format of the game — fast, informal, and accessible — encouraging broader community engagement across skill levels.
Other Sports
While cricket is the flagship sport under ICF’s Sports portfolio, we are committed to expanding inclusive sport opportunities beyond cricket. This includes exploring emerging and community sports such as Quidditch and Pickleball, which offer fun, low-barrier entry points for people of all ages and abilities to be active, social, and connected.
These offerings reflect our belief that inclusive sports should meet people where they are — culturally, socially, and physically — and inspire lifelong participation.
